Parents never listen to their adult children.

As if trapped in a state of stunted adulthood, parents, especially in their 50s or 60s, will insist that their children are always going ot be just that: Kids. However, as time goes on and their kid's grey hairs start cropping up alongside their crow's feet, they still don't see those grown adults as equals.

Most parents will always look at their kids as if they know better than them.

When it comes to weddings, parents always know better, right? Wrong! Oftentimes, parents will try to commandeer the wedding planning process, turning this event meant to celebrate their child's love into a circus of parental fanfare. I used to work in the wedding industry and saw my fair share of mother-of-the-bridezillas trying to get the catering staff to make special exceptions or trying to bend the rules to their will. Most recently, this young bride vented on Reddit about her own mother's oversteps, lamenting on r/AmIOverreacting to see if she was alone in thinking her mom's actions at her microwedding were off base.

After making it clear that she wanted a mellow, laid-back family event, this bride planned a wedding with about 20 people that could be accommodated in her own backyard. Hoping to celebrate her marriage in peace, she asked that her parents leave their yappy white dog at home, knowing it would cause problems with her own chill Labrador. Alas, the day of the wedding rolled along, and in walked the parents, yappy, crusty white dog in tow.

Without a second thought, they assumed they were right in this situation, belittling the bride and basically insinuating that she should accommodate their dog no matter what. But what if they'd left the dog at home like they were asked? Would that not have solved the issue entirely? Keep scrolling for the entire drama of the parents who just had to be right, even on their daughter's wedding day.
