How do you determine whether someone is a true friend or not?

Well, different people have different "qualifications" that help them decide whether someone they know is an actual friend. If you ask me, I would say that a friend is someone who will always be there for you when you need them, someone you enjoy being around, and someone who will always want the best for you and you the same for them.

There is probably more to friendship, but if you have someone in your life that you consider a friend but the do not meet these three conditions, maybe you should reconsider your relationship with them before one of you gets hurt.

The girls below, for example, have proved that they do not meet these terms when it comes to their friendship with one of the girls in the "friend" group, and it is becoming apparent that they have no intention of changing that either.

This 30-year-old woman went on a girls' trip for her birthday with a group she's been friends with for the last 15 years. The whole point of the trip was to celebrate her birthday, but that quickly went sideways when the group decided to appoint the birthday girl as the designated driver of the trip.

Yep, you read that right, they wanted her to drive them around the entire trip, on her own birthday. Naturally, the birthday girl refused, and instead of finding another arrangement, like splitting up the driving responsibilities between the rest of the group, the other girls decided to completely ghost the birthday girl and ignore her during the entire vacation. They forced her to spend her birthday alone during the vacation, while they used Uber to avoid driving, something they could have easily done with her on board, too.

Going back to the three friendship terms, these girls are clearly not there for their "friend" when she needs them, they don't want what's best for her, and they generally don't seem like the best people to be around. So, should the birthday girl even keep being friends with these girls?
