On December 29th, 2016, YouTuber Elsy Sánchez reposted a video of Steven Yeun, voice actor of the character Invincible and Mark Grayson in the series of the same name, saying, "I'm a strawberry," while using a strawberry filter. The video gained over 10,000 views in 10 years. It is unclear where or when exactly Yeun posted the video.
The Steven Yeun strawberry video spread over the following years on sites like TikTok and YouTube as it slowly garnered attention online.
On April 12th, 20256, TikToker and DJ @lxstskilla posted a remix of the audio from the strawberry video known as the "I'm a Strawberry" funk remix, garnering over 1.1 million views in about two weeks.
