In the words of a disgraced rapper, "Soon as you see the text, reply me." And some people live by that. Some folks can't stand to sit on a text. Their wheels will immediately start to spin, and anxiety will creep up their necks. They can't stand to wait even an hour for a reply. Other folks can go days without caring or noticing, especially if it's not urgent. We all have our own speeds of texting, and we're all comfortable with different things. But you should never foist your pace onto someone else's. It's just not fair. Just because you're an anxious person doesn't mean everyone else has to suffer too.

You should take stock of your own text messaging practice and figure out if it's healthy or not. You especially need to do this if you're in a relationship. Relationships are all about communication, and texting is a huge form of communication. If the two of you have vastly different texting styles, you need to work out a compromise. Otherwise, you'll run into issues forever.
