Thank You… Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man fans around the world are well aware that the series' last chapter released this week, and the biggest meme to come out of that chapter has to do with a love-it-or-hate-it scene from the last few pages.

On the page, Asa nearly trips and falls, but is saved by the series' protagonist Denji. She thanks him and, for the first time, calls him "Chainsaw Man." Denji is very confused by this, and she overtly explains that she called him that name because he fought with a chainsaw.

This very bold attempt at meta-humor came off as funny to some fans, but stilted and weird to others, who found it tonally strange and unnecessary.

Regardless of what you think about the scene, it became a massive meme as fans made high-quality edits that replace the characters in the panels with other popular characters from anime, TV, video game series' and more. These edits have been taking over every corner of social media, showing just how big of a fanbase Chainsaw Man garnered over the past few years.

Keep On Dreaming… Denji

As if one Chainsaw Man meme wasn't enough, a moment from the manga's second-to-last chapter also went viral this past week as an equally high-quality redraw meme, based on one of the series' more emotional moments.

Without spoiling too much, this meme comes from a pivotal moment in the manga featuring a fan-favorite character in a treacherous scenario. In the scene, the character tells Denji to "keep on dreaming" before Denji screams his name and cries. If you're a fan of the manga, you probably already know the context.

Just like the "Thank You Denji" memes, this format is all about drawing over and editing two panels from the manga to replace the characters and context of the scene in a funny way. Tons of exampls have popped up over the past week, including references to everything from Five Nights at Freddy's to Attack On Titan to Sonic the Hedgehog and more.

Social media is really going to miss having the Chainsaw Man manga to feed it endless meme formats. At least we still have Jujutsu Kaisen, though.

The Love Island format has been stolen and transformed into an AI monstrosity known as Fruit Love Island and for some reason, people actually seem to be tuning in.

Fruit Love Island, generated by TikToker @ai.cinema021, follows the exact format of Love Island. Instead of starring real people and hinging on real drama, though, it stars a bunch of AI-generated anthropomorphic fruits in a Pixar-like style who have to compete for each other's love on an island villa.

The most shocking thing about Fruit Love Island is the views. Each episode has at least 10 million views and the account hosting them has over 3.3 million followers, all of which was gained in less than two weeks.

Some people think the numbers have to be botted, while others genuinely seem to be loving the series. Since going viral, many posts about favorite couples and dramatic moments have appeared online, alongside memes like fan edits. On the other hand, there's a whole lot of hate for the series and its fans from the anti-AI crowd, who see it as just another example of "AI slop."

Catching Print

TikTok has found a new slang term to add to the lexicon, and this time it's "catching print," a spicy and funny term that's got some men feeling nervous.

"Catching print" was coined by dating coach Anwar White, who posted a video explaining the term in great detail in the middle of March. In his video, he defines catching print as a way of sizing up a guy's "manhood" to determine its size from outside their pants. This includes a whole list of terms describing each size, including "A-bulge," "B-bulge" and "G-bulge."

The video blew up over the last week and inspired a wave of videos referencing the term. Many of these videos feature women talking about the importance of catching print and being unable to stop catching print since learning about the term. Some even see it as a form of retaliation towards creepy men who can't help but leer at women.

There are also some videos from men who are worried about the trend and want to warn others that women are out here catching print. Although if you're the kind of man who's worried about having your print caught, it might be better to keep that to yourself.

Finally, the trailer for the newest Spider-Man movie was released recently and fans were happy to see that Peter Parker is finally miserable, broke and suffering.

This time around, Peter Parker is depressed because nobody on earth remembers who he is, including his friends and his ex-girlfriend. It's clearly a lot for him to deal with based on the trailer, but for Spider-Man fans, that's exactly what they want.

The idea of Peter Parker being at his best when he's depressed has floated around the fandom forever, so it makes sense that fans are so excited. It also seemingly helps some people relate to his character, which is a sad truth that lives on in just about every meme and post celebrating Parker's sadness.

Will the movie be any good? That remains to be seen. But if Peter Parker is sad, it just might be.
