Celebrating Peter Parker Broke, Miserable and Suffering is a series of memes made in reaction to the plot of Spider-Man: Brand New Day that celebrate Peter Parker being miserable, broke and suffering in his life after he made everybody forget who he is in the previous film, No Way Home. The memes started to appear online as early as February 2026 and became increasingly popular after the trailer for Brand New Day was released on March 18th, 2026.

Peter Parker being consistently depressed, broken down or miserable has been routinely discussed in the Spider-Man fandom throughout the 2000s, with many believing that the best storylines for Spider-Man come when his life is filled with tragedy and grief.
On February 18th, 2026, X user @ReignOfPride posted a meme sharing a happy reaction video under the caption, "PETER PARKER IS OFFICIALLY A STRUGGLING ADULT WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND BEING BROKE AS SHIT," in response to a post sharing news that Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the third Tom Holland-led Spider-Man film, takes place four years after the last, meaning he's now an adult. In the second film, Parker had to make everyone, including his loved ones, forget his identity, leaving him alone and without anyone. The post gained over 151,000 likes in a month.

On March 18th, the full first trailer for Brand New Day was released. That day, X user @therimjobreaper posted, in response to a scene of Peter Parker looking over at MJ with a new man, having forgotten about Parker, "mcu peter parker is finally relatable to the average college experience: wanting to kill yourself at a house party," gaining over 119,000 likes in a day.
That day, TikToker @marvelous_stop_motion posted a meme making a similar joke about fans celebrating at Peter Parker's suffering, garnering over 95,000 views in a day.
