Unless you are an especially unlucky person, it's likely that you experience a lot of life somewhere in the middle.
Most things are not terrible, but not extraordinary either. There is probably a certain predictability to your routine, from what time you wake up to the kinds of things you choose to do for fun. Everything is either shaped by comfort or necessity. In a lot of ways, life is defined less by those major milestones that we like to think about, and more by countless ordinary moments that we live over and over.
Learning to coexist with routine and even boredom is an important facet of being alive. There is no escaping the fact that much of our existence is likely to be repetitive and sometimes dull. The bright side of this is that it is the perfect fuel for creativity, even at its simplest and dumbest level. Memes take the habits and experiences that people often assume are kind of boring and turn them into something funny. They remind us that the minor existential crisis we might have occasionally is not unique to us.
While some memes are intentionally nonsensical, many more of them resonate with a large audience because they are somehow rooted in the common experience. They make the mundane feel less lonely and more entertaining. Memes help people find connection in the stuff that they might otherwise keep to themselves, and the many things we take for granted as uninteresting facts. They make it better.
