KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 — A section of Jalan Bonus near Masjid India in Kuala Lumpur was closed to traffic this morning after part of the road caved in in front of a jewellery shop.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said the incident occurred earlier today.

“An incident of road collapse occurred along Jalan Bonus, Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur (in front of Bombay Jewellery) at about 8.39am,” DBKL said in a statement.

“For safety reasons, Jalan Masjid India has been temporarily closed to vehicles from Lorong Masjid India 4 (beside the mosque) up to the affected area,” it added.

DBKL said teams from the council, Air Selangor, Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) and the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters were at the scene to investigate.

It said monitoring and technical works were still ongoing.

“DBKL emphasised that public safety is the top priority. Monitoring and technical work will continue, and further updates will be provided from time to time.”
