Rain’s Interaction With His Sunbae Relating To The Important Women In His Life Sparks Attention

Singer and actor Rain‘s interaction senior actress Oh Mi Hee has sparked attention.

On the May 25th broadcast of MBN‘s Body Insight, actress Oh Mi Hee appeared as a guest.

That day, Oh Mi Hee cited Rain and Kim Tae Hee as one of her life’s key influences, saying, “When Rain was skyrocketing in popularity with ‘How to Tun from the Sun,’ he appeared on my radio show.”

She recalled, “There was a segment where we’d draw postcards with stories to give out gifts. One story picked was from a mother who said her child gave her a maple leaf as a present after kindergarten.”

Oh Mi Hee said, “I asked Rain what gift he had given his mother, and he said, ‘My mother isn’t here.’ I felt really sorry,” reflecting on the moment.

She added, “‘I’m sorry, I didn’t know,’ I said, and Rain replied, ‘Not everyone needs to know that my mother passed away.’ I felt both sorry and grateful as he comforted and cared for me when I was caught off guard.” She also mentioned, “I apologized again during the music break because I felt so apologetic.”

Oh Mi Hee also shared that she gave Rain advice about fame. She said, “I told him, ‘Your work depends on popularity, but popularity is like dancing. Dancing involves moving forward, backward, sideways, and sometimes pausing; popularity works the same way.'” She recalled, “At that time, Rain just listened in a daze.”

She went on, “Later, in a documentary called Window of Asia, Rain was featured as the main subject, and seven people who shaped him were introduced: his late mother, a high school teacher, Kim Tae Woo from g.o.d, Park Jin Young from JYP, a trainer, an choreographer, and me.”

Although they had only met once, Oh Mi Hee was surprised to hear that Rain mentioned her. “The broadcasting station called me, saying Rain said I was his ideal type. I thought, ‘No way,’” she laughed.

She continued, “Rain was a good listener. He said I gave him a hint about the kind of woman he should meet in the future,” and smiled warmly, saying, “That compliment stays with me.”

In fact, in the documentary, Rain expressed deep respect and affection for Oh Mi Hee, describing her as “someone who somehow evokes a nostalgic feeling about my mother and gave me a clue about the woman I might meet in the future.”

Meanwhile, Rain’s mother battled complications from diabetes for a long time before passing away in 2000.
