British Management University (BMU) in Tashkent invites applications for a position in its TESOL programme, commencing September 2026. Established in 2020, BMU delivers British higher education in Uzbekistan through partnerships with University of Reading and Queen Margaret University. We seek internationally minded educators committed to high-quality teaching, curriculum development, and continued growth in the field of English language teaching. Familiarity with UK higher education frameworks, assessment, and quality assurance is advantageous. Experience with language testing, including IELTS, is highly valued.
Employment Package
BMU offers a supportive academic environment, an initial one-year renewable contract, and a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include seven weeks of annual leave, a housing allowance, one annual return flight, and private medical coverage in Uzbekistan.
Candidate Profile and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an established academic with higher education teaching experience, an active scholarly research profile and native/near-native English proficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field; (a Ph.D. degree is necessary to be considered for a professor-level position)
- CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent TESOL qualification are advantageous
- Ideally minimum 5 years of teaching experience, including in higher education
- Evidence of scholarly research engagement or professional development is essential; a developing record of publications is desirable
- Experience designing and delivering undergraduate modules; experience in postgraduate teaching experience and supervision of student research is desirable
- Experience in curriculum development, materials design, and assessment creation
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver TESOL teaching within the MA TESOL and Educational Leadership programme
- Initiate and facilitate curriculum development, assessment design, and quality assurance
- Contribute to research, publication, and scholarly engagement activities
- Support programme leadership, quality assurance, and committee work
- Monitor student progress and contribute to teacher development initiatives
