KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 — Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected across most Malaysian states and Kuala Lumpur until 8 pm today, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) warned this afternoon.

In peninsular Malaysia, the weather is forecast for Perlis, Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Baling, Kulim, Bandar Baharu), and Penang (North, Central, and South Seberang Perai).

The same alert applies to Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, Muallim), Terengganu (Besut, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun), and Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Pekan, Rompin).

Stormy conditions are also expected in Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling) and Johor (Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi).

In Sarawak, affected areas include Betong (Saratok, Kabong), Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Belaga), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan, Marudi), and Limbang. 

In Sabah, warnings cover the Interior (Tambunan) and West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran).

Residents, especially in flood-prone and low-lying areas, are advised to take precautions and stay updated on weather developments.
