Through messages sent to fans, Keonhee brought up profile pictures and clarified something many didn’t seem to know. While his words were simple, netizens are convinced Geonhee was hinting at something far more severe.

Geonhee: “Moonies, just in case, I’m telling you this!”

Geonhee: “Artists can’t see fans’ profile pictures!!”

Geonhee: “There are quite a few people who have their nickname set up like ‘[nickname] + ‘Person in the profile picture is me‘!!”

Many fans believed Geonhee was clarifying this because some fans on such messaging apps set their profile pictures to revealing or provocative photos of themselves in hopes that idols might see them.

  • “There are tons of people who send revealing photos even to attractive influencers, so with celebrities… of course it’d be worse.”
  • “Back in the day it was more about trying hard to look cute, but these days people are apparently just using revealing pics.”
  • “Ah… so does ‘profile pic’ here mean they’re using it to say ‘the person in this picture is me’?”
