If your partner changed the way they look and you didn't like it… is that grounds for divorce?
One thing about humans is that we're always changing. We tend to look pretty different at different stages of our lives, and no certain stage is more important than another. In the natural course of a human life, our appearance can change pretty drastically. We see it happen to the people around us, and to ourselves. It's our job to choose partners who don't care as much about the outside as they do about the inside. But this is much easier said than done. It's why many people, mostly women, turn to cosmetic procedures to help reduce the appearance of aging. It's something women have been doing since the dawn of time.
We use makeup, rituals, skincare, and sometimes more extreme measures to maintain the cache of beauty. Because you can't deny that it's important, it's much more important than we want it to be. When women age, the world tends to value them a little less. This can be a traumatic experience to go through, especially for women who have been praised for their looks throughout their lives. They might be left wondering what they do have, once the external stuff goes away. So we should have grace with everyone who feels like they need to alter their looks. It's usually a symptom of something society has made them feel. We can't blame them for being part of society. But is there a right way and a wrong way to go about it?
