KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will charge a former special assistant of an MP at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow.
The commission said the man is expected to be charged at 8.30 am at the court.
In March last year, the former special assistant had been remanded to facilitate an investigation into the procurement of smartboards by the Federal Territories Education Department on Nov 14, 2024.
The MACC also informed that a Islamic finance and investment expert with the title of Tan Sri and another company director are expected to be charged at the same court tomorrow morning.
Last January, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed the arrest of a businessman with the title Tan Sri for allegedly defrauding investors and causing losses of over RM300 million in the past two years.
A woman who was the company’s board member was also arrested during that time. — Bernama
