E-invoicing milestone: Over RM675m in transactions recorded as 106,000 businesses go digital

CYBERJAYA, Nov 4 — Malaysia’s national e-invoicing initiative has reached a key milestone, with over 106,000 businesses adopting the system and recording more than RM675 million in transactions to date, Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying said today.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), Lim praised the agency for its smooth implementation of the digital tax reform.

“The implementation of e-invoicing is a major step towards digitalisation. To date, more than 106,000 providers have come on board, with transactions valued at over RM675 million ­— a very proud achievement,” she said.

Lim said the initiative is not just about technology but about cultivating a culture of trust and accountability in public service. 

“Innovation without integrity can lead to failure, while integrity without innovation can cause stagnation. Both must move together,” she said.

She commended LHDN for ensuring tax revenue is channelled back to the public and urged its officers to maintain transparency and an innovative spirit.

The e-invoicing system is a core part of the Finance Ministry’s digital tax reform agenda, designed to simplify tax processes, reduce compliance costs, and improve revenue collection efficiency.
