This also includes the belief that breathing through the mouth vs the nose can change facial appearance. Videos showing individuals, including RM, with a receding chin being negatively compared to others who do not have gone viral on TikTok.

One of these videos was reposted on X in a tweet mocking RM’s appearance.

Many defended the idol, citing a number of reasons, including the often racist logic behind the community. Many visual “imperfections” are actually ethnic features that are viewed as “less than” by some, who favor Eurocentric features.

“Looksmaxxing” is also often associated with incels and incel-like behavior.
