‘Chef’s Table’ Sets Two New Seasons at Netflix

The Netflix series that helped define “food porn” for much of the past decade is heading back into the kitchen.

The streamer has ordered two new seasons of Chef’s Table, its gorgeously filmed docuseries featuring some of the world’s best and most innovative chefs. The two seasons are subtitled Icons and Desserts; the culinary stars featured in each season will be announced later.

Chef’s Table was Netflix’s first original unscripted series, premiering in 2015. Including three seasons organized around a particular cuisine (pastry, barbecue and pizza) or region (France), it has produced 48 episodes across 10 seasons and earned nine Emmy nominations. The most recent season premiered in November 2024.

“Chef’s Table has always been about more than food. It’s about the personal journey of the chefs who tell stories with their cuisine — the obsession, discipline, and heart that goes into every night of service in their kitchens and dining rooms,” said series creator, director and executive producer David Gelb. “For Desserts and Icons, these stories were so exciting to me that I decided to take the camera and direct all eight episodes myself, and I’ve found myself profoundly moved by the experience of filming on the most intimate level with these chefs. After 10 years, our filmmaking team continues to strive to elevate Chef’s Table to an even higher level, just like our chefs do in their restaurants every day.”

Boardwalk Pictures and David Gelb Films produce Chef’s Table. Gelb executive produces with Andrew Fried, Brian McGinn and Dane Lillegard.
