The chapter gained virality in mid-to-late March 2026 as artists used it as a redraw reference in memes to drawing other characters in place of the original panels, also replacing the text and using the phrasal template "Keep On Dreaming X."

Origin

On March 10th, 2026, chapter 231 of the Chainsaw Man manga series, titled "Goodbye, Pochita," was released. In the chapter, Pochita devours himself into the Chainsaw Devil form. But before that, he throws up a peace sign and tells Denji to "keep dreaming" even after Pochita didn't exist anymore.

The chapter gained popularity online in the days following the release, with discussions and redraws referencing the panel before Pochita devours himself spreading among the fandom.

On March 16th, 2026, artist Khyleri uploaded the earliest known redraw of the scene to their Twitter / X account, depicting an Attack on Titan fan art using the panel as reference. The post received more than 154,000 likes in three days.
