Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced CBT Expert Trainer to support the national rollout and implementation of digitally enabled CBT programs across adult and CYP NHS services, including:
- Internet-delivered Cognitive Therapy (iCT) for PTSD and Social Anxiety
- OSCA – Online Social Anxiety Cognitive Therapy for Adolescents
- OSI – Online Support and Intervention (parent-led CBT for child anxiety)
This is a senior, clinically led role focused on training, supervision, service implementation, and quality assurance, working closely with NHS stakeholders and Oxford-model clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Training & Supervision
- Deliver initial and ongoing therapist training for iCT, OSCA, and/or OSI programs
- Provide skills groups, consultation, and supervision to NHS clinicians
- Support services to build sustainable train-the-trainer models
- Respond to clinical queries and support safe, effective digital CBT delivery
Program Implementation & Quality
- Support national rollout through clinical and program meetings
- Contribute to monitoring outcomes and service effectiveness
- Establish and promote best-practice frameworks for digital CBT delivery
- Develop and contribute content to Communities of Practice and knowledge-sharing forums
Strategic & Clinical Leadership
- Act as a clinical ambassador for digital CBT programs
- Engage constructively with NHS Talking Therapies and CYP services
- Identify and address implementation barriers
- Maintain active clinical expertise in CBT delivery and supervision
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and/or
- BABCP accreditation as a CBT Therapist (or accreditation-ready)
- Formal training in Oxford CBT models, including one or more of:
- Trauma-focused CT for PTSD (Ehlers & Clark)
- CT for Social Anxiety Disorder (Clark & Wells)
- Parent-led CBT for child anxiety (e.g. Helping Your Child with Fears and Worries)
Essential Experience:
- Delivery of high-quality, disorder-specific CBT
- Experience delivering CBT remotely / digitally
- Completion of observed or recorded CBT competence assessments (OSCA or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of NHS Talking Therapies and/or NHS CYP services
- Thorough risk assessment and case management experience
Must Have Experience:
- Clinical supervision of other Clinicians
- Training delivery to mental health professionals
- Experience with CYP services, MHSTs, or parent-led interventions
- Involvement in service development or digital innovation
Knowledge & Skills:
- Excellent diagnostic and formulation skills
- Knowledge of NICE recommended care and psychological interventions for common mental health problems in young people
- Confidence working with mild to complex presentations
- Interest in digital mental healthcare and service transformation
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary NHS teams

Location: UK – Remote
Contract: Full-time | Part-time | Senior / Specialist Level
Time: Standard UK time 9am-5pm
