A towed car, frozen bank account and passive-aggressive comments from gossiping pilates moms are just a few of the unfortunate events that happen to Cameron Diaz in Netflix’s “Bad Day” trailer.

The “big-heart mom-com” film, which hits the streamer on Dec. 11, gives a glimpse of just how bad this day will get in its new trailer. Diaz plays a single mom of two daughters who pinky-promised to make an appearance at her youngest child’s soccer game, but the universe has other plans for her. Whether it’s taking her father to his dialysis appointment or proving her innocence in bank fraud, something always seems to get in the way of her keeping her promise.

“Bad Day” blends Diaz’s “Back in Action” and “Charlie’s Angels” action experience with her heartfelt roles like “There’s Something About Mary” and “The Holiday.” Joining her are Danielle Brooks (“Orange Is the New Black”) and John Higgins as a pair of police officers, Ed O’Neill as her father, Rhenzy Feliz (“The Penguin”) as her friend, along with Emma Pearson and Jessica Belkin as her daughters. Mark Duplass, Jessica Belkin, Rob Corddry, Ayden Mayeri, Ben Schwartz, Retta, Emma Pearson, P.J. Byrne, Sherry Cola, Edi Patterson and Beck Bennett are also among the cast.

The movie is directed by Jake Szymanski, who helmed the Amazon Prime Video series “Jury Duty.” Laura Solon is the writer, and Beau Bauman is a producer. Mark Moran and Laura Solon are executive producers, with Jeremy Mittleman serving as a co-producer.
