aespa have made their highly anticipated comeback with title track “Lemonade,” released alongside their second studio album of the same name.
| SM EntertainmentWhile the song itself has sparked mixed reactions online — with some praising it and others calling it underwhelming — it’s the live performance that is now drawing the most attention and criticism.
| SM EntertainmentThe group’s latest stage has come under fire for its choreography, which many netizens have slammed as flat and lacking energy.

The “Lemonade” choreography relies on minimal, controlled movements, with the members often performing sharp hand gestures, subtle shoulder isolations, and slow transitions between formations.
Instead of fast footwork or high-energy dance breaks, much of the performance focuses on posed sections and synchronized “point” moves that repeat throughout the stage.
Their performances feel so lifeless and low-energy. Choreography like this needs charisma and sharp execution to really hit, but with them it just falls flat. I honestly think that’s one of the main reasons their music doesn’t connect with the average person outside of k-pop fans https://t.co/s9pWTLT8UJ

This has made it the center of criticism, as many now claim the routine feels repetitive and fails to make an impact on stage, especially for a title track.
you can give them hundreds of backup dancers but they will still give you the most boring performance

Some also argue that the performance leans too heavily on minimal movement, leaving key sections feeling empty rather than controlled or intentional.
it’s the same movements every single comeback and the same stiff moves https://t.co/P8XaX1Gz7X

Others claim the choreography simply does not suit the group’s style and weakens their overall stage presence.
just be standing there doing nothing, they can't pull this non-chalant choreo due to their lack of natural charm n stage presence😭 https://t.co/Igptm3UvJV
