A divorced star who previously confirmed his relationship with a fellow celebrity was recently spotted with someone new.

Hawick Lau is a Hong Kong actor and singer who was married to 39-year-old Yang Mi, a Chinese singer-actress 12 years his junior. They went from co-stars in Ru Yi, Holding Love, and A Clear Midsummer Night to off-screen lovers, going public with their relationship on January 8, 2012. Two years later, they married in Bali, and Yang gave birth to their daughter later that same year. After four years of marriage, Lau and Yang divorced in December 2018.

Lau sparked fresh dating rumors after he was spotted holding hands with a young mystery woman outside the Hong Kong Coliseum, following a concert.

Clips of the moment went viral across Chinese social media on May 28, though the footage was reportedly taken on May 15 when Lau attended Alex Fong’s Best Time Concert 2026. In the videos, the actor was seen holding the woman’s hand as they walked into the venue.

Netizens who said they saw the pair at the event began speculating about the woman’s identity and age, with many believing she appears to be in her 20s or 30s, around the same age as, or younger than, Lau’s ex-wife. Witnesses also claimed the 51-year-old star appeared relaxed and friendly, greeting staff members warmly while the woman stayed smiling at his side despite attracting attention from people nearby.

The viral clips surfaced amid ongoing speculation surrounding Lau’s relationship with mainland Chinese actress Li Xiao Feng. The couple officially confirmed their romance in 2022, but breakup rumors have grown in recent months after they stopped making public appearances together. Chinese netizens also reportedly pointed out that several older social media posts connected to their relationship seem to have been deleted.
