KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — Prof Datuk Seri Dr Jeswant Dillon’s induction as the first Malaysian into the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) represents the highest form of recognition for his excellence, dedication and contributions to the field of cardiothoracic surgery.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad said this achievement was not attained overnight but is the result of the surgeon’s ongoing commitment and years of devoted service in advancing medical care.

“He is a true patriot who has proudly raised the Jalur Gemilang on the international stage. I have personally witnessed his precision and expertise in the operating theatre.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Health and the government, I extend my deepest respect to Dr Jeswant for this truly well-deserved recognition. Malaysia is immensely proud of your contributions and achievements,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Dr Dzulkefly added that the success of the senior consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at the National Heart Institute (IJN) has not only brought honour to the nation but also serves as an inspiration to the next generation of Malaysian surgeons, encouraging them to pursue excellence and achieve even greater milestones. — Bernama
