If memes are not a traditional way to celebrate the end of the week yet, they need to become one sooner rather than later.
They are the obvious choice for those who have spent the past five days doing their very best to navigate the stressful and increasingly absurd challenges of daily life, and just want a low-effort, high-reward way to relax for a couple of minutes and allow their brains to prepare for whatever the heck may come their way next. A lot of us don't have the energy to be doing the fun stuff that is actually good for us, so brain rot is the natural substitute to use.
While we can often argue that there are better things to be doing with our free time than looking at memes, we can't deny that they have their benefits. They give us an insight into the humorous and often highly relatable inner worlds of countless internet strangers, and they can help us identify different trends and aesthetics long before they become mainstream (and for quite a while after the fact, as well). They can be used as a tool to feel less alone, and one to judge where we believe judgment to be due. They are nothing if not versatile.
All these things considered, the images that can be found below are worth a couple of minutes of scrolling to find out what it is they have to say. It is only right to start the weekend off like this.
