Internet memes are an achievement to be proud of.

This is not a statement that everybody is going to agree on, but it is one that we can make an argument for. People started using this invention that we call the World Wide Web and decided that we needed to innovate in the field of entertainment and communications for it to really start making a big impact. What they came up with through a process of trial and error made leaps and bounds in the important area of getting our message across in a way that others will pay attention to, and even find funny.

Of course, like everything, there are downsides to the creation of memes. Those with terrible agendas have frequently used them to further a toxic message, and we have to admit that they can be a terrible waste of time when we are looking at our phones, despite having a long list of better things to do.
