You won't feel a pinch
It can be a little painful to be on the internet these days. Every moment I spend on X isn't filled with the comedy and laughter it used to produce back in 2018. Now I have to keep blocking people because my feed won't stop spewing wild untruths and upsetting drivel. Every replies section is just filled with hundreds of generic AI-generated responses that feel inhuman in every way. Whatever happened to the internet that I grew up with? It feels more and more like a distant memory as time marches on.
But it doesn't have to! Just because we live in 2026 doesn't mean we have to interact with the internet like it's 2026. We don't have to watch AI videos of healthy food screaming at unhealthy food just because that's what the algorithm wants to feed us. We don't have to watch endless gameplay of other people badly playing iPhone video games in short-form videos. We can have a more vintage approach to the internet. There's something so fun about scrolling through a meme list like you used to do in the good old days. You don't have to curate your feed to make sure it's interesting. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the memes as they come to you. That, or you could be miserable on social media. Your choice!
