About
144p to 4k is a resolution comparison meme trend that shows a well-known low-resolution image described as being displayed in "144p," followed by a much higher resolution version of the same image described as being displayed in "4k." The 4k images are often upressed or upscaled using AI or are a comedically different image from the original 144p image.
The trend began in mid-April 2026 and was purportedly started by TikToker @milei_zaza, also known as Krevion. It spread over the following weeks on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. As the trend went viral, content creator Anatoxich began going viral with videos in which he reacts in an exaggerated way to 144p to 4k videos. Many of the videos use a CapCut template called "4K filter AI" to upres the images.
