Although it's nice to be social on occasion, feeling like you're a part of something bigger and can connect with real-life humans, introverts ultimately relish the moments of ‘me time’ in life. Sweet solitude and soul-regenerating solace are critical for the introverted mind, more so than rowdy board game nights, birthday parties, or family obligations. There's no such thing as complete avoidance of being social, as we're all forced to make small talk with the Trader Joe's cashier and the gas station attendant, but introverts pride themselves on their ability to avoid overdoing it.

Well-aware of their social battery and activity boundaries, introverts are a lot like indoor cats.

Stalkerish, mischievous, and always reserved, introverts bide their time socially, unleashing their hilarity, their true self, and their full potential only when they're completely at ease. And oftentimes, that's only when they're alone. If you're ever included in the small social circle of an introvert, consider yourself honored, because once an introvert has decided they can be themselves around you, there's no turning back.

If there's anything that can drag an introvert away from the comfort of their early bedtime, comfortable home, mysterious ‘me time,' and deliciously scented candle, that's a rarity.

Introverted souls aren't always antisocial; they just prioritize the hobbies and activities that make them happy, just like anyone else would. Except it turns out that the activities that make a self-proclaimed loner feel 100% right in this world include no other participants: just me, myself, and I. Their priorities are silence, peace, and self-reflection time, contradicting an extrovert's loud jokes, overbearing nature, and overwhelming presence.

Alas, to be an introvert is to be a loner by choice.

For most introverted people, once they realize that they don't need anybody else to be happy, they've unlocked a whole new level of personal peace, starting with a warm tea, a bowl of cookies, and an aromatherapy evening.
