There is no doubt about it, it can be upsetting when you are on a tight budget and those who you live with cannot keep their hands off the stuff that you spent your hard-earned money on. Some people love to act like having roommates means a free-for-all involving anything that is brought over that shared threshold, and it can get to be a real problem. These types of individuals usually don't like being told no, either.

This issue is annoying enough to deal with when the culprit is somebody who is paying rent, but sometimes it is even more of a pain when it is their guests who are making themselves too comfortable. It often has to be dealt with even more delicately, at risk of creating problems with both the roommate and the person staying over.

In this story, one woman became irritated by her roommate and her elderly mom, after the mom began eating her food, using her toiletries, and throwing out her things. Despite her confronting her roommate about telling her mother what she could and couldn't use, the daughter seemed to think that she could figure it out on her own.

In response, the woman decided to put a couple of signs up in the apartment to guide their guest in the right direction. Some other people thought she was taking the problem too seriously, and she wanted a second opinion.
