KUANTAN, Nov 11 — Pahang police have arrested three foreign men to assist in the investigation into the case of a woman’s decomposed body found under a pile of oil palm fronds at a plantation in Telemong, Bentong, on Nov 3.
State police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the suspects, aged in their 30s, were workers at the plantation where the body was found.
He said the post-mortem revealed that the victim, a 41-year-old Indonesian woman, was likely murdered nearly two weeks before her body was discovered by plantation workers.
“One of the suspects has confessed to his involvement in the crime,” Yahaya told a press conference at the Pahang Police Headquarters today.
He added that the victim, who lived in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, had gone to the plantation to meet one of the suspects, and a dispute between them led to her murder.
Yahaya said the police would apply for a remand order to complete the investigation and determine the motive.
On Nov 4, it was reported that the decomposed body of a woman was found at an oil palm estate in Batu 19, Karak–Kuala Pilah Road, Telemong, Bentong. — Bernama
