KANGAR, Dec 25 — Mohd Shukri Ramli today announced his resignation as Perlis menteri besar due to health reasons.
Speaking at a press conference at the official menteri besar’s residence here, Mohd Shukri said he had presented his letter of resignation to the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, earlier this afternoon.
He said the resignation would take effect subject to the consent of Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin.
“I hereby fully submit to the wisdom of His Majesty Tuanku in considering my intention,” he said.
The Sanglang state assemblyman also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the entire state government administration and the people of Perlis for their strong cooperation throughout his tenure as Menteri Besar. — Bernama
