As an Assistant Professor, you will be expected to bring academic rigor, a student first mindset, and a bold, future ready approach to teaching and learning excellence at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate teaching excellence in the public or private sector.

Assistant Professor in Business Management

This role is suited for an early to mid-career academic with a strong foundation in teaching. The Assistant Professor will play an active role in designing and delivering modules across Business Management programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The appointee will also be encouraged to engage in scholarly activities aligned with the University's academic goals.

Key responsibilities and duties: 

  • Deliver, teach and manage specialised modules such as Strategic Management, International Business, Marketing, Leadership, and related areas, using contemporary, student-centred approaches.
  • Contribute to curriculum design and enhancement to ensure alignment with international standards, Industry trends, and employability outcomes.
  • Develop and assess course materials Including syllabi, assignments, and examinations, ensuring academic rigour and clarity.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research or applied projects, providing academic guidance and constructive feedback.
  • Advise and mentor students, supporting their academic progress and professional development.
  • Engage In scholarly or applied research, including case study development or contributions to teaching innovation.
  • Support accreditation and quality assurance activities contributing to continuous programme Improvement.
  • Collaborate with faculty across disciplines and participate in university-wide initiatives, events, and committees.
  • Maintain active engagement with Industry and academic networks to enhance teaching and programme relevance.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching, scholarship, and academic leadership capabilities.

In addition to the above, all University of Liverpool, India – Bengaluru staff are required to: 

  • Adhere to all University policies and procedures, completing all obligatory training and induction modules, including Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety.

Experience

  1. Demonstrated ability to design and deliver high-quality, research-Informed teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  2. Experience In contributing to curriculum development and programme enhancement, ensuring relevance to academic standards and industry expectations. 

Desirable

Education, qualifications and training

Essential

  1. Ph.D. in Business Management, Management Studies, or a closely related field,
  2. Significant academic experience, Including meaningful contributions to teaching, curriculum support, and academic service.

Desirable

  1. Teaching qualification or Fellowship of HEA or commitment to complete qualification.

Skills, general and specialist Knowledge

Essential

  1. Emerging leadership capabilities, Including experience in academic coordination, student mentoring, and participation in departmental planning or committees.

  1. Active engagement in pedagogical enhancement through research, professional development, or participation in academic networks, with a clear commitment to continuous improvement In teaching and learning practices.
