KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 — Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit the capital and 10 other states until 8pm today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a statement today, said the affected states are Perlis; Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Penang; Perak; Kelantan (Jeli and Kuala Krai); and Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu).

A similar weather warning has also been issued for Pahang, involving Jerantut, Maran, Bera and Rompin; Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling and Kuala Langat); and Melaka.

In addition, in Johor, similar weather conditions are expected in Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat and Pontian. — Bernama
