The Blastoise Trend or Blastoise Belly Edits is an exploitable meme and LGBTQ+ body positivity trend in which men replace the stomach and chest of the Pokémon Blastoise with a photo of their own stomach. The trend was popularized on X / Twitter and Instagram on November 9th, 2025, although it is unclear who exactly started it. It spread to sites including TikTok that month, resulting in both SFW versions and lewd versions in which men not only edit their stomachs, but also their genitals over Blastoise's stomach.

Origin

It is unclear who started the Blastoise trend. It appears to have started on Instagram as a Stories trend on or around November 9th, 2025.

One of the earliest known examples was posted by X user @GenEcho98 that day, who reposted an Instagram Story of themselves doing the trend with their stomach replacing Blastoise's, garnering over 13,000 likes in four days.

The trend was further popularized over the following days, mostly on X, with examples also appearing on Instagram and TikTok. As the trend evolved, some users began posting edits that not only included their chests and stomachs, but also their genitals.

On November 9th, 2025, X user @tjhotdoggo posted an image of the Pokémon Blastoise with his body replaced by the X user's body, garnering over 5,300 likes in four days.

That day, X user @kdremb posted a Blastoise edit that gained over 5,200 likes in four days.

On November 10th, 2025, X user @shisou_ posted a collection of three different versions of the trend that gained over 9,400 likes in three days.

Later that day, X user @prowteinbox posted a version of the meme where his body does not align perfectly with the Blastoise stomach, and a phone can be seen in the shot, garnering over 21,000 likes in three days.

That same day, X user @Buckthe_buck posted a version of the trend that gained over 10,000 likes in three days. On November 11th, Instagram user @bulkwitch posted an edit that gained over 1,200 likes in two days.
