Tamera Mowry-Housley Boards ‘Scrubs’ Season 2

Sacred Heart Hospital is adding a new doctor to its roster in season two of the Scrubs revival.

The ABC comedy has cast Tamera Mowry-Housley in a guest role for the coming season, which premieres Sept. 30. She will play Dr. Steffie, a pediatrician at the hospital who tries to convince Tosh (Ava Bunn) to choose peds as her specialty.

Mowry-Housley will appear in the second of two episodes on Scrubs‘ premiere night next week.

Scrubs returned to the air in the spring after 16 years away, with stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke reprising their roles as series regulars and Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley, Neil Flynn, Christa Miller and Robert Maschio (among others) returning in guest roles. The show had a successful (if short) first season, finishing among the top 25 network series (excluding sports) of 2025-26 in total viewers and the top five in the adults 18-49 demographic.

The cast also includes Bunn, who was upped to a series regular for the coming season, Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layla Mohammadi, Amanda Morrow, Michael James Scott and Vanessa Bayer. Rachel Bilson, who guest-starred in last season’s finale, will return as well.

Aseem Batra is the showrunner on Scrubs and executive produces with series creator Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Lawrence’s Doozer Productions, Braff, Chalke, Faison, Mike Royce, Mathew Harawitz, Randall Keenan Winston and Michael Spiller.

With her sister Tia, Mowry-Housley broke out on ABC’s Sister, Sister in the 1990s. In recent years she has become a frequent star in Hallmark Channel movies; she leads the outlet’s Haunted Harmony Mysteries series and will appear in two of Hallmark’s holiday films later this year. Mowry-Housley is repped by 3 Arts Entertainment, CAA and Del Shaw.
