Singer Accused In An Actor’s Tragic Death Case Drops Receipts

On September 11, 2025, actor Yu Menglong (also known as Alan Yu) passed away at 37 years old. Though the police ruled out “any criminality” in Yu’s death, celebrities, legal experts, and netizens have continued to raise alarm bells. Some believe that Yu’s fatal fall was not accidental, and that the truth is being covered up.

Yu’s agency, in particular, has been accused of being involved in an alleged murder plot. Netizens have speculated that some celebrities also played a role in Yu’s death because on the night of his death, the actor reportedly attended a gathering of 17 people at a friend’s home. Singer-actor Fan Shiqi is one celebrity who has been linked to this alleged murder controversy.

Fan’s alleged connection to Yu’s death has repeatedly negatively impacted Fan’s career. Plans for his solo concert last October were cancelled after he reportedly sold just 15 tickets, and in March 2026, netizens demanded Fan’s removal from Season 2 of the historical Chinese drama The Ingenious One.

Now, Fan is going public with official paperwork to prove his innocence. On April 23, Fan’s studio released a police-issued document stating that he has no criminal record. According to this document, Fan has committed no crimes from his birth (March 23, 1992) to now (April 19, 2026).
