Road closure: Jalan Sultan Ismail in KL to close Sept 24-28 for Autumn Music & Cultural Festival 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — Jalan Sultan Ismail in front of Sungei Wang Plaza will be temporarily closed this week for the Autumn Music & Cultural Festival 2026.

The closure notice was announced by Sungei Wang Plaza through its official Facebook page and shared by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

“Plan your route early or skip the traffic altogether by taking public transport,” the mall said, noting that the MRT Bukit Bintang and KL Monorail stations serve the area.

The affected stretch will be closed from 10pm tomorrow for festival setup, followed by full‑day closures from Friday to Sunday, September 25 to 27.

DBKL said the road will reopen after festival teardown, which is scheduled to continue until 5am on September 28.

The organisers said the closure is necessary to facilitate three days of performances and cultural activities in the Bukit Bintang area.

They also thanked the public for their cooperation and advised motorists to follow traffic diversions during the period.
