BALING, Nov 10 — A man who had been married for only two days was reportedly found dead, hanging from a tree in Kampung Lubuk Kabu, Kuala Pegang, near here today.
Baling District acting police chief Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Salimi Md Ali said police received a report about the discovery at 11.30am and a team was sent to the scene, according to a report in Berita Harian.
Ahmad Salimi reportedly said initial checks found that the 34-year-old villager had climbed a neem tree about five metres tall beside a house.
“The man was said to have just gotten married two days ago,” he was quoted as saying in a statement.
Medical personnel from the Kupang Health Clinic reportedly confirmed the man had died at the scene.
The body was reportedly sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
