The memes were popularized in early March 2026 after several videos purportedly showing him with much bushier eyebrows than usual went viral, inspiring theories and memes about what he did to make his eyebrows bushier. The videos are edited to increase the size of Shapiro's brows and are not authentic.

On March 6th, 2026, X user @BackupJeffx posted a video from Ben Shapiro's YouTube channel where Shapiro criticizes conservative broadcast journalist Tucker Carlson. In the clip, Shapiro's eyebrows have been edited to appear larger than they actually are, which can be seen when comparing the original upload to the upload by @BackupJeffx. The post gained over 2,600 likes in three days.
