I ranked second — again and again — and still they ignored me. The reward for trying to be better was endless touring and cold shoulders.
— Wang Yi
In June, another SNH48 member, Zhou Shiyu, cut ties with the agency after seven years. On June 7, she accused the agency of unfair treatment, withholding her wages, and poor communication. She also said that she had hired legal representation for the purpose of handling her contract termination, alleging that her rights had been denied.
Zhou ShiyuAt the time, Zhou expressed her sadness and frustration at how her hard work and persistence did not pay off. In particular, she singled out her solo birthday stage event that took place on March 15. Instead of being an organized and happy occasion, she revealed that it was a mess, and she ended up feeling invisible.
Even after getting results, I still couldn’t earn the basic respect.
— Zhou Shiyu

Zhou’s hearing will be on November 19 at 3:30 p.m. local time, at the People’s Court of Hongkou District, Shanghai. Wang’s hearing will take place on November 24 at 9:00 a.m., at the same location.
