KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several states and territories, effective until 4pm today.
The alert covers Perlis, Kedah, Penang, and parts of Selangor including Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang.
It also applies to Putrajaya and several districts in Negeri Sembilan, namely Jelebu, Seremban, and Kuala Pilah.
MetMalaysia said the warning follows signs of thunderstorms with heavy rain exceeding 20 millimetres per hour expected to last more than an hour.
The department reminded the public that such short-term warnings remain valid for no more than six hours after issuance.
The latest advisory was released at 1.20pm today.
