A big part of sharing any kind of environment is respecting other people's personal space.
Anyone who is constantly acting entitled to what others have already claimed as theirs is always going to cause problems that could easily be avoided with just a little forethought and understanding. Much as they can be annoying at times, many rules are in place for good reason. Following them allows everyone to exist together peacefully with a minimum of inconvenience.
This is especially true when it comes to the workplace. It is all too common for coworkers to experience that one person who ruins things for everyone, whether they steal things from the breakroom fridge or have a tendency to act like they get first priority over anything and everything in the office.
Dealing with these kinds of individuals takes care, as more often than not, they are not too understanding when they get confronted about their behavior. They think that everybody should fit their needs around their convenience. It is usually the case that management or HR need to get involved, but this can occasionally prompt guilt. A lot of people are not sure about tattling on their coworkers even when they have a very valid reason for doing so.
