If a company doesn't care about your time before you get hired, what's to say that things are going to change after?
Although there is a lot of pressure on the job candidate to make a good impression with a potential employer, it is also vital that the company that is hiring also does the most to make sure they come across as a decent place to work. The more that they mess around with interviewees and give little thought to how they come across, the less likely they are to attract good quality employees.
Sadly for those seeking work, this is not a lesson that a lot of employers are interested in learning. Finding new hires is yet another badly organized inconvenience, and those who apply for jobs with them are made to feel it. Candidates may be more grateful to land interviews in this dire job market, but their feelings are not necessarily going to stay that way when they face this kind of behavior. If they do not start to look for better opportunities immediately, they will almost certainly quit this job as soon as they have the time to find a better offer.
