C9 Entertainment’s Boy Group CIX Has Fallen Victim To The Infamous “Seven-Year Curse”

They are going their separate ways.

C9 Entertainment‘s boy group CIX has virtually disbanded.

In a statement shared by C9 Entertainment on CIX’s fancafe page, the agency confirmed CIX will be bringing their group activities to a close while the members go their separate ways.

We would like to share our position on the future activities of CIX.

CIX will be bringing their group activities to a close after seven years together with their fans since their debut on July 21, 2019

Over the past several months, we have engaged in sincere and in-depth discussions with the members in hopes of continuing the group’s activities, but all parties involved have ultimately come to the agreement that halting group activities is inevitable at this time.

As both the members and the agency have poured their hearts into everything produced under the CIX name, including music, choreography, videos, performances, broadcasts, and all other work, this decision weighs heavily on all of us.

Accordingly, the exclusive contracts of BX and Seunghun will come to an end on April 30th.

Yonghee applied for voluntary enlistment following the decision to cease group activities, and will fulfill his military service obligation as an active-duty soldier after completing basic training at a training camp beginning May 11. His exclusive contract will conclude upon his enlistment, and no separate official event will be held on the day of his entry. However, we are separately preparing a small occasion for fans to say their farewells to Yonghee before his enlistment, and further details will be shared through the fan cafe notice accordingly.

For Hyunsuk, we are providing support for his work commitments so that he may focus on the drama he is currently filming, and his exclusive contract is scheduled to conclude on May 31st.

We ask for your warm encouragement for the members as they each try their hardest in their lives ahead, in new places and with new beginnings.

We intend to continue making genuine efforts through ongoing communication with the members so that the CIX brand may one day return with the unique music that is distinctly their own.

CIX debuted in 2019 following former memebr Bae Jinyoung‘s participation with WANNA ONE. Bae Jinyoung left the group in August 2024.
