Artist 'Orenji' Inspires Memes On 'X' With Their 'Brat Face'

WholesomeOrenji Brat Face or Orenji Mesugaki Face is a face drawn and popularized by X / Twitter artist Orenji (@WholesomeOrenji) denoted by blushing cheeks, a smile with one sharp tooth showing and eyes at a mischievous downward angle. Orenji first started sharing art featuring the face as early as September 2020, continuing to use the face over the following years. In November 2025, other X users began applying the face to their art and to other characters as an exploitable meme trend, accelerated by Orenji sharing a PNG of the face on the site.

Origin

The earliest known example of Orenji's brat face was posted to X by @WholesomeOrenji on September 30th, 2020, garnering over 200 likes in five years. In the artwork, the face is shown on the character Midna from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Spread

Orenji continued to use the face over the following years as their art grew in popularity. For example, on January 4th, 2025, Orenji posted a piece of art on X showing a ghost making the face, captioned, "featureless floating orb with sex eyes 😭," garnering over 4,200 likes in 10 months.

On November 13th, X user @WholesomeOrenji posted an edit of the Steam Machine with the face, writing, "Steam Brat," garnering over 61,000 likes in just over a week.

On November 17th, 2025, X user @Superhet2024 quoted a post by Orenji, writing, "Does anyone have a transparent png we can use to put this face on everything?"

Orenji then responded in an X post on November 18th with a transparent PNG of the face, garnering over 23,000 likes and 1,700 reposts in six days.

On November 21st, X user @breeadmancer posted photos of the face attached to their Roomba vacuum, writing, "Thank you Orenji-senpai I turned my Roomba into a brat," garnering over 29,000 likes in three days.

On November 23rd, 2025, X user @Yahnuko posted an edit of a piece of art depicting VTuber Koseki Bijou throwing a rock, both of the characters featuring the Orenji face, garnering over 5,600 likes in a day.

Later that day, X user @atcunnyceo posted an image of a custom phone keyboard featuring the face across the keys, writing, "Bratty keyboard 💢💢," garnering over 1,300 likes in a day.
