The Opportunity

DMU Dubai is seeking an exceptional Academic Director to lead its academic mission and drive the next phase of development. This is a senior leadership role with genuine influence and impact.

Key Responsibilities

The Academic Director will:

• Lead and manage all academic activities across the campus
• Direct teaching, research, and faculty development initiatives
• Maintain critical regulatory relationships with KHDA and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research
• Serve on the Dubai Leadership Board, reporting to the PVC International
• Shape campus strategy and lead institutional change alongside senior colleagues
• Contribute to DMU's broader transnational education ambitions globally
• Chair and participate in key University committees

Essential Requirements

• PhD in a relevant discipline with professorial or equivalent standing
• Research or professional profile appropriate for senior academic leadership
• Proven track record in leadership at School or Dean level
• Experience managing financial and human resources
• Success in building external partnerships with government and industry
• Student-centered approach and cross-cultural sensitivity

Highly Desirable

• Experience working in both UK higher education and the UAE/Gulf region
• Working knowledge of Arabic
• Understanding of the regional education landscape and culture

The Role

This is a permanent, Dubai-based position with occasional travel to the UK. The successful candidate will join a committed team dedicated to academic excellence, inclusion, and innovation, delivering programmes aligned with both UK and UAE standards.
