Doing a weekly ADHD meme compilation was the perfect outlet for a guy like me. It basically summarized the week of struggling with making my brain work the way I wanted it to. I'd compile memes all week, collect screenshots here and there, and whenever I felt like I'd gathered enough digital proof of shared struggle, I'd write about the process of, you know, doing the actual "compiling." It was a beautiful (and deeply all over the place) tradition. But then something happened. What exactly it was? No clue. When did it happen? Obviously, I don't remember. Sometime about ten months ago, that "weekly" streak found itself a new home just out of reach in my frontal cortex.
Of course, in another one of my classic ADHD moves, I only realized this whole thing two days ago. Feels a lot like waking up from one of those weird naps where you rocket upright convinced you missed the bus to school, except it's Saturday, you're a 33-year-old man, with a job you're mostly good at except when you forget to do something for 6 whole months. Just another day in the ADHD time warp.
