Just kidding, you can touch the art all you want. Why? Because it is on your phone screen, your computer screen, and your heart. Memes are boundless. They exist wherever you need them to exist. Which is usually just on the internet.
Do you even remember the first time you saw an official meme? Like, I remember how old I was when memes started being a household name in my life, but I can't remember how it all started… There are so many memes out there that could have been my first! I am from the generation of memes, the millennials. We invented memes out of necessity. We were dished such an insane world, we needed some way to cope. And laughter is always a great tool in staying sane. Why do you think the Joker is always cackling? Well, not to keep him sane, but to keep him strong!
And we shall stay strong through the power of laughter! Memes will be our weapon on of choice. Feeling down in the dark? Memes! Feeling uninspired. Again, memes! There truly is a meme for every emotion.
Do you remember the first meme you made? You may not have even realized it was a meme when you made it! Perhaps it was just a silly picture with some words on it that you sent to your friends because it just felt natural. It might have even been a picture of yourself! It doesn't have to go viral to still be an appreciated meme. We appreciate all memes! Sure, we don't get the humor in all memes, but somebody does! And that's the beauty to memes.
You are never alone with memes, just like you are never alone in a museum. You are always there with the passion that was poured into the art. Plus, museums are usually pretty packed. Except this museum, because it is a MEMEseum, which means everyone has their own saved on their phone. Enjoy them and LOL at them, that's their artist's purpose.
